The longer race at this event was billed as a 10K. Unfortunately,
due to a misunderstanding, many of the 10K participants were told
to turn around at the 2K mark on the boardwalk, not the 2.5K mark.
This cut a total of 1K off the course. We did not discover this
was happening until after the first few runners crossed the finish
line and informed us that the course was short. We do not know at
what point the marshall realized the mistake and corrected it. It
was before those in the 5K race - which started 10 minutes after the
10K - reached that part of the course.

To avoid posting misleadingly fast times for those who ran a shortened
course, and because it is impossible for us to determine which runners
ran the full 10K, we decided it best to post all results as 9K times.
For your personal records, if you went all the way to the end of the
boardwalk before turning around, you did a full 10K. Otherwise, it was 9K.

We, the organizers of "The Game Of Life" races, would like to apologize
for the error and hope that you enjoyed yourself despite this. We will
endeavour to ensure something like this does not occur at any of our events
in future.
